The article and books published in the last decades of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century in the West offer a rich literature in the area of hadith studies. But the Western scholarship in this area and its development are not much reflected in the Iranian academia. The book Hadith from the Orientalist Point of View: A Study and Analysis of Hadith Scholarship by Harold Motzki will be introduced here. The review will give some information on the book, including an extended explanation of individual chapters. Finally, certain suggestions for the improvement of the book will be presented.
