Abstract
Although the onset of modernization in Iran did not coincide with the introduction of the printing industry, this industry significantly accelerated the modernization of the military, literacy, and public health in Tabriz. In contrast, during the era of Fath-Ali Shah in Tehran and Isfahan, the narrative took a different turn, where the printing press was utilized to promote the Shia religion and its rituals.
