Abstract
Based on some research, there are significant similarities between the beliefs and customs of Greek Cynicism and the Pashupata
, a sect of the Indian Shaivism. Sometimes such beliefs and customs can be found among the (Malamatian) reproachers. This article, while briefly describing these commonalities, is an invitation to investigate the possible influence of the beliefs of this Indian sect on the reproachers and the early Qalandars.
