Abstract

In addition to historical and literary research done on the time of the importation of tobacco to Iran and the Indian subcontinent, there have also been discussions about it from a medical point of view, and some works have been written on this subject. One of these works is the treatise on the benefits of tobacco by Hesamuddin Machini, which was written during the Safavid period and at least three manuscripts of it are available. In the following article, the author has an overview of the mentioned treatise. In line with this goal, he first introduces generalities about the treatise and the remaining manuscripts of it. Then, it examines the content of the dissertation and finally, presents its text.
