Abstract

During the Middle Ages, Muslim libraries did help protect the books, increase the knowledge, and acquaint the humankind with the value of studying. In this article, the authors try to picture the Middle Ages Muslims' enthusiasm to establish libraries and protect the books. Therefore, having used the available resources in the libraries all over the world, they want to find an answer to some questions considering the recognition of some Muslim libraries during the Middle Ages in some famous cities and countries, such as Halab, Baghdād, Ghāhere,…. The questions such as the following ones are going to be answered: where and when the libraries flourished; who the owners of the libraries were, or who established them; why they were established; how they were managed; who came to use them; how people used the libraries; how many sources there were in the libraries; how these sources were classified; and finally, what happened to theses libraries.
