Double Plagiarism: on the Occasion of the Publication of a Maqtal Whose Bad Translation is not by Abulqasem Payande

The importance of the news included in History of the Prophets and Kings (Tarikh al-Tabari) regarding the event of Ashura has long attracted the attention of many seekers of the history of Karbala event to this ancient book. Part of the importance of Tabari's Ashura news goes back to Tabari's extensive use of Abu Mekhnaf Azodi's narrations. Abulqasem Payande is one of the translators who has so far translated maqtal of Imam Hossein (AS) according to Tabari's narration of Abu Mekhnaf. Hossein Anvaripoor, in a book entitled Isteshhād al-Hossein (AS) (Maqtal al-Hussein (AS) from the Tarikh al-Tabari)), which was published in 1397 by the International Publishing Company, has used Payande's translation and published it in the form of Arabic to Persian translation along with the Arabic text of maqtal al-Hossein from Tarikh al-Tabari. The author's goal in the following article is to criticize this book. To this end, he first discusses the presented critiques of Tabari and his historical book. Then, he discusses the topics of Abulqasem Payande's translations, including the translation of Tarikh al-Tabari. Finally, in order to criticize Anvaripoor's book, he compares the translation that Anvaripoor published in his book under the name of Payande's translation with what has been published by Payandeh in the translation of Tarikh alTabari and provides examples.
