Abstract

One of the hadiths printed in farhang-e Ma›thoorāt-e Motoon-e Erfāni (1380: Soroosh Publication) is «Bi›tha ela al-ahmar wa al-aswad» which is quoted from Mersād ol-Ebād and is translated into «I›ve become a prophet for the red and black (skin)». Now the question is what the meaning of the red skin was at the time of the Prophet (Pbuh). Does ahmar only mean red? Do ahmar/abyaz in this hadith just mean red skin and white skin? The author of the following paper believes that one can find a more appropriate meaning for this hadith than the one presented in farhang-e Ma›thoorāt-e Motoon-e Erfāni by searching and studying it in other sources and texts.
