Having a Look at Some Undocumented Hadiths in Bahr-e Zakhār Tadhkirah

Abstract

Bahr-e Zakhār is a Persian Tadhkirah (memorandum), by Vajih od-Dīn Ashraf, which was being written in 1202 AH, but no information is available on the date of finishing its writing or the date of the author›s birth and death. Bahr-e Zakhār is a general Tadhkirah about the religious leaders of different tariqas especially the subcontinent religious leaders. This book contains the biography of 2800 religious leaders out of which 2000 are from subcontinent. So far, two volumes of this book have been published, corrected and compiled by Azarmeidokht Safavi. Both of these volumes have respectively been published in cooperation with the Center of Persian Research of the Islamic university of Aligere and the Cultural Center of I.R. Iran in New Dehli in 2012, and 2014. According to the editor, the third volume is also going to be published very soon, and its publication puts an end to this series. The following paper is the translation of an article titled «Tadhkirah
Bahr-e Zakhār ki Ba›z-e Gheir-e Mustanad Revaiatein» which was printed in Ma›ārif journal (No. 6/195) in June 2015. It is going to review some of the undocumented hadiths in this book.
