Abstract

In different eras, Imamiya theology has been impacted by various important intellectual currents in Islamic civilization. Among all, Mu;tazila theology, Ash’ari theology, Avicennism, Ibn Arabi’s mysticism, and Sadrāie’s wisdom are the most important and effective schools on Imamiya theology. The most important developments in Imamiya theology, which led to the emergence of distinct theological schools and currents in Imamiya theology are due to the effects of the mentioned schools. In the previous issue of this journal, a
paper titled “Imamiya Theology and Mu’tazila Discourse (Some consideration regarding the issue of the impact of Mu’tazila theology on Imamiya theology)” was published which talks about the influence of Mu’tazila theology system on Imamiya theology. This paper explains about the fact that Imamiya theology has been influenced by Ash’ari theology, Avicennism, Illuminationism, Ibn Arabi’s mysticism, and Sadrāie’s wisdom. Knowing about these effects is quite helpful in the way we face the Imamiya theological texts, and reminds us to take other schools and their impacts in consideration as well.
