Abstract

One of the ways to find the Shiite Imams› hadiths is to seek other sources of Islamic denominations including Sunnis and Zaidiyyah. Finding these hadiths in the sources of these denominations has many scientific benefits such as finding a part of Imams› hadith heritage which is not in Imamiya›s sources or is refined, decrypting the mispronunciations and distortions of the texts and document, discovering the parallel ways of narrating hadith, and… One of the efforts made to achieve these goals is the compilation of al-Mustadrak os-Sāni Levasāel al-Shia, whose secondary title is Ahadith ol-A›emat ol-Tāhirin Be Asānīd ol-Ᾱma wa al-Mokhālifin, by Sheikh Mahmud Qānsoo Shahābi Ᾱmeli. The book has 21 volumes, and its writer searched hundreds of sources both the ones which are exclusively for hadiths and the ones which are not. He has collected around 25000 hadiths including the ones which are in a way narrated by Imams or written by them. The author of the present paper is going to introduce this work based on its writer›s introduction to the book,
and then discuss its characteristics. He also mentions some of the critical considerations regarding this
book.
