The entry of “Manuscripts of the Qur’an” from Leiden Encyclopedia of the Qur’an is written by François Dorosh, one of the most prominent researchers in the field of the manuscripts of the Qur’an. The article consists of a brief introduction and eight sections. The author in the present paper outlines the article and the topics discussed therein. The eight sections of the article are as follows: Pre- Uthmānic manuscripts, the Hijāzi and Umayyad codices, the Qur’anic codex in early Abbāsid times, A century of change, towards the modern Qur’anic codex, the Qur’anic codex in the western Islamic world and in West Africa, Later developments, Production and conservations.
