Abstract

AbusalāhHalabi was one of the most famous mutakallimiin and Shia jurists during modern ages, whose personality and the features of his thoughts are not quite known. Therefore, the writer intends to clarify some of the characteristics of AbusalāhHalabi’skalāmi writings. In this regard, he, first of all, has a brief look at his biography; and then provides a list of his works including his kalāmi, juridical, and other kinds of writings. Following this, based on the references Halabi had had to his different works in every one of his books, the author examines the chronological order of hiswritings. In the next part of this article, he has studied three of AbusalāhHalabi’skalāmi works: Taghrib Al-Ma’āref, Al-kāfi fi Al-taklif, andAl-borhānalāSobut Al-iman. In fact, the author has compared these three books with regard to their structure, content, and the sources used for their writing. In the last part, the writer talks about Halabi’skalāmi methodology, his knowledge basis, and his intellectual properties such as his belief in the independence of reason in receiving religious education, rational goodness and badness, the least use of textual evidences, and inauthenticity of khabarwahid (a hadith with incomplete chain of transmission).
