Abstract

Aqīda al-Shia (Shia Belief) by Muhammad Rezā Ansāri Qomi is a collection of seventy texts which have been written by Shia Jurisprudences and theologians about the most important religious beliefs; and many of which are for the first time copied from the ancient manuscripts, corrected and published. The collector has compiled this book in order to authenticate the Shiite beliefs. Having gathered and corrected the texts which belong to the pre-Safavid era and early Safavid period, he has tried to show that the Shiite religious principles have not changed at all. In the present paper, the author intends to introduce and criticize the book.
