Abstract

Fotūh ar-Rahmān fi Ishārāt al-Qur’anis an intuitive discursive exegesis which has the Sufistic attitude belonging to the west of Iran. Shamsoddin Deilami, the book writer, has some unique romantic mystical ideas. He can be considered the missing link of Iranian mysticism from 6th/7th to 12th/13th century. In this article, the author is going to restudy this mystical interpretation and its writer. Regarding this, he firstly takes a look at Deilami’s status, and points out some of the reasons which has led to his being unknown and forgotten. Then, he speaks of his prominence and privileges as well as the importance of researching about his works. Following this, he talks about his biography, his ancestors, and also some new found information about his academic spiritual life. His genealogy and spiritual assignment among the Iranian mystics has for the first time been presented in this article. The author is going to put an end to this article by providing some information about Fotūh ar-Rahmān Exegesis.
