French Journals: A bridge for the Presence of Muslims in Europe in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries

Abstract
In both nineteenth and twentieth centuries, French people, among the Europeans, made a worthy effort to promote the idea of Muslims in the world through journals such as “Muslim World” and “Asia”. Therefore, in order to spread the news of the Islam and Arab world, the French more than often used Muslims’ ideological ideas; and intended to picture the academic view of the Islam world for the Europeans. In the present article, proposing the issue of the interaction between European and Muslim scholars through the publication of academic journals,the author briefly speaks of the academic efforts of the Muslims in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries along with the Westerns’ activities in analyzing the Muslims’ works. Following this, he points out “Islam World” journal and its issues’ content in which the books and works of the scholars of the Islam world in theology and law, and sociology are introduced. In the end, a list of the European journals in 19thand 20th centuries along with a picture of the first page of the “Muslim World” journal is presented.
