The History of the extensive political, military, diplomatic, and cultural relations between Ottoman Empire and Safavidstate is well depicted in the Ottoman primary sources. The author of the present article is to introduce and examine the Turkish sources in which the relationship of Iran and Ottoman is demonstrated. Regarding this, he begins with giving a short explanation about the relations between Iran and Ottoman state in eight separate periods. Then, he divides the primary Turkish sources which are usable in studying the history of Ottoman-Safavid relations and are available today into the following eight groups: Documents of Ottoman archives, collections of Manshaāt, historiographies, chronicles of 16th and 17th century AD, accounts of battles and victories, manuscripts of miscellaneous essays, and siyāsatnama (book of government).
