Abstract
The present paper is the translation of Michael Cook’s review on the book the Death of a Prophet: the End of Muhammad’s Life and the Beginning of Islam by Stephen Shoemker (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania University Publication, 2012). This book is a novel addition to the body of material on Islamic origins, a discussion which has been going on for several decades. The author of the article has provided a report of the book and briefly explains the content of the chapters.
