Abstract

One of the first entries of Makers of the Iranian IslamicWorldSeries is a book titled Sa’di, the Poet of Life, Love, and Compassionwhich introducesSa’di-e Shirāzi. This work is written by Muhammad Ali HomāyounKātouziān, translated by KāzimFīroozmand, and published by Nārmak publication. This series is originally the Persian translation of the books of Makers of the Muslim Worldseries which is published by Farhangestān under the supervision of Patricia Crown. Narmak publication has chosen the parts related to Iranian culture, translated them, and published them as the Makers of the Iranian Islamic World Series.  The author of the present paper has studied and criticized the entry of Sa’di, and pointed out its deficiencies in different aspects of content, translation, and print.
