Al-Borhān fi Vojuh al-Baiān, by Abulhussein Ishāq bin Ibrahim Kātib, is a literary work on elm-e bayān (rhetoric) which belongs to the first half of the fourth century AD. This work has just focused on the issue of rhetoric; and tried to examine the question of human understanding form different aspects with regard to the scientific basis of this field in Greek literature, Arabic prose and verse, important sayings, and historical instances. The author of this paper is going to review this book. Regarding this, after a brief biography of the book writer, he scrutinizes the Shiite works included in al-Borhān in three categories of Imams’ hadiths, Kalām issues, and juridical issues.
