Omīdvār (Hopeful) A lexical discussion on the pretext of one of Sa’di’s verse

Abstract

The word Omīdvār (hopeful) is one of the common vocabulary of Persian language, but not all of its applications, i.e. some of the word’s applications are not apparent at the first glance. In the following paper, the author tries to examine one of the application of this word in one of Sa’di’s verse. He is also going to talk about the application of the word Omīdvār (hopeful) with the meaning of what one hopesfor in some other old texts as well as Ferdowsi’s Shaāhnāme.
