In the Safavid period, there are hundreds of prominent poets who, in addition to composing ghazals, also composed historical poems in the form of qaside or other forms and even tarji'band. Some of those poems contain historical events such as conquests, and others include poems praising kings and others while implicitly or explicitly referred to historical events.In the following article, the author has reviewed Hafzi Baghdadi's poems, one of the poets who lived during the reign of Shah Abbas I. Regarding this, he, first of all, presents some information including Bāstāni Rad's explanation about Hafzi and his collection of poems. Following this, he writes Hafzi's poem about his father, and talks about his beliefs such as his belief in Mahdism and a poem about this. Then, he presents some of Hafzi's poems in praise of Shah Abbas I, which are mentioned in his divan, to the readers. Finally, he concludes the article by presenting some of Mashreqi Shirazi's poems in praise of Shah Abbas.

Some words in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh have meanings and applications that have significant and meaning-oriented differences from the initial idea of a modern Persian language user; and if we don't pay enough attention to them, the contents of some of the verses and phrases of Shahnameh are not clarified. In the following article, the author tries to examine the meanings of the two words "Pahlavan" and "Khadem", which are among the most used and key words in Ferdowsi's Shahnameh. Therefore, he cites examples from the text of the Shahnameh.

The True Identity of Attār Tooni

Despite numerous critiques and debates about counterfeit poems attributed to Attar Nishapur (627 AH), the true identities of the original poets have not yet been identified. Among these poems, two poems Mazāher al-Ajāeb and Lesān Al-Ghayb are written by a Shiite poet from the ninth century AH, who we know as Attar Tooni to distinguish him from Attar Nishapur. In this article, his true identity has been identified according to the two manuscripts found in his handwriting (National Library, the library of Dehkhoda Lexicon Institute, No. 6). Nezamoddin Ahmad bin Hossein bin Muhammad Shah Ghaffari Tooni lived in the 9th century and traces his lineage to Abudhar Ghaffari. In compiling the two aforementioned manuscripts, he presented important and significant information about his biography, the details of which have been carefully examined and evaluated in the article.
Ghaffari was sentenced to death in 883 AH in Samarkand for writing a copy of Mazāher al-Ajāeb which talked of the superiority of Ali (AS) over his companions; however, he escaped death through the mediation of Khaje Obaidullah Ahrar and Sheikh al-Islam. In this incident, the book Mazāher al-Ajāeb was burned in Sultan Alagh Beig School in Samarkand. Afterwards, he travelled from Samarkand to Harat and made several trips, so he was in Samarkand in 883 AH, in Harat in 884 AH, in Cairo in 894 AH, in Maragheh and Tabriz in 896 AH, and in Kashan in 899 AH. He built and dedicated a Naqareh Khane in Hilla, and a place for the residence of the poor and travelers in Maragheh named Ghaffaria. This information is the only definitive and inviolable information about Ghaffari's life, and his poems in this regard cannot be cited in most cases.
Due to the fact that the attribution of Mazāher al-Ajāeb to Attar caused widespread controversy about Attar's religion during the Safavid period, and even cast doubt on the attribution of Tazkirat al-Awliya, these controversies are reported below. At the end of the article, other works attributed to Attar are classified, and the possible date of composition of some of them is examined.

Double Plagiarism: on the Occasion of the Publication of a Maqtal Whose Bad Translation is not by Abulqasem Payande

The importance of the news included in History of the Prophets and Kings (Tarikh al-Tabari) regarding the event of Ashura has long attracted the attention of many seekers of the history of Karbala event to this ancient book. Part of the importance of Tabari's Ashura news goes back to Tabari's extensive use of Abu Mekhnaf Azodi's narrations. Abulqasem Payande is one of the translators who has so far translated maqtal of Imam Hossein (AS) according to Tabari's narration of Abu Mekhnaf. Hossein Anvaripoor, in a book entitled Isteshhād al-Hossein (AS) (Maqtal al-Hussein (AS) from the Tarikh al-Tabari)), which was published in 1397 by the International Publishing Company, has used Payande's translation and published it in the form of Arabic to Persian translation along with the Arabic text of maqtal al-Hossein from Tarikh al-Tabari. The author's goal in the following article is to criticize this book. To this end, he first discusses the presented critiques of Tabari and his historical book. Then, he discusses the topics of Abulqasem Payande's translations, including the translation of Tarikh al-Tabari. Finally, in order to criticize Anvaripoor's book, he compares the translation that Anvaripoor published in his book under the name of Payande's translation with what has been published by Payandeh in the translation of Tarikh alTabari and provides examples.

Introduction and review of the oldest known manuscript of Risaleh Zikryeh

Risaleh Zikryeh is one of the famous works of Mir Seyed Ali Hamedani who is known as Ali Sani and Shah-e Hamedan, one of the most popular mystics in eighth century.
Risaleh Zikryeh has been published several times independently or in addition to other his works. Through edition of the Zaad-e Akhirat, the authors have found a manuscript belongs to the Leiden University Library (number 600 from the Warner collection), that consists of several works including Risaleh Zikryeh as the most important one. The date of this manuscript is 811 A.H. which is close to the time of Mir Seyed Ali Hamedani (714-786 A.H.). So, this manuscript is the oldest complete version of this work according to the different catalogues. Two most important corrections of Risaleh Zikryeh are edited by Mohammad Riaz and Fereydoun Taghizadeh. The first one is published in Life and Works of Mir Seyed Ali Hamedani and the other one is published independently.
The authors introduced earlier editions and also compared this manuscript with both mentioned editions and indicated the importance of the Leiden's manuscript, especially in the edition of the Risaleh Zikryeh.

A Selection of Indian Style Poems by Alireza Zakavati Gharagozlou, published by the University Publishing Center in 1372, was the first selection of Indian style poetry in Iran. A work that in its selection of Indian style poems went beyond Saib and Kaleem's poems, and presented other brilliant poems in this style from some unknown poets. In this article, we are talking about the second edition and the detailed and revised version of A Selection of Indian Style Poems that is Majmoo'eye Khial (a Collection of Fantasies). This new book includes selected ghazals of forty six poets from Baba Faghani Shirazi to Safa' al –Haq Hamedani, and was published by Nashrenow publishing house in 1397.
The following article first deals with the opponents and proponents of the Indian style, and then discusses some excerpts from the poems of Indian style poets from the book A Selection of Saib Tabrizi's poems by Heidar Ali Kamali Isfahani (published in 1305) and other selections published up to 1397. Finally it is going to criticize and evaluate the book Majmoo'eye Khial (a Collection of Fantasies). In this section, while explaining the political and social situation in Iran after the Mongol invasion and Safavid despair, the characteristics of the Indian style and the ups and downs of this style are discussed. One of the most important advantages of the this collection compared to other selections of the Indian style is that the author's philosophical insight was the main criteria in choosing the poems, and the author has tried to reveal the "individuality" as well as stylistic and intellectual characteristics of each poet by reflecting on their individual and social thinking.

The book The Structure of Created Causality According to Abulhassan Ash'ari's Perspective is a Persian translation of an article by Richard M. Frank, one of the most prominent Western scholars in the field of Islamic theology, who examines Abulhasan Ash'ari's views in the book Al-Luma on the role and manner of human causality in doing of his actions. In the present article, first Frank's important works on Ash'ari and Mu'tazilite theology are briefly introduced, and the importance of his research in this field is pointed out, then the Persian translation of this article is criticized and evaluated. This critical essay shows that the mentioned translation, in addition to problems in its appearance which are related to its publication, contains numerous and significant flaws and shortcomings, including: Significant errors in reading and writing names and phrases, incorrect translations, selection of erroneous equivalents, spelling and punctuation errors, omission and numerous small and large misunderstandings, and punctuation errors.
