The present paper is based upon the following verse of Sa’di:
Henceforth, Sa’di is neither wise nor conscious
Love prevails over the virtues
First of all the author analyses the term “becharbid (prevail)” or “bechasbid (stick)”in some of the versions and commentaries of Sa’di’s Lyrics. Following this, he is after answering to this question that what the meaning of the term “bechasbid (stick)”, which is mentioned in the old versions and also in two authentic corrections, is. And whether it is in consistent with Sa’di’s style in this verse or not. Therefore, after examining the meaning of this term in different sources, he states that this term means “being superior”, “being better” or “prevailing”.

Many writings in Arabic and Hebrew language are left from Musa Ibn Meimūn. These writings are on different subjects such as law, theology, philosophy, medicine, and mathematics both in Jewish and Islamic culture. However, some of his writings arouse the scholars’ curiosity more than the other ones because they are written in Arabic language but in Hebrew letters. In the present article, the author examines part of Ibn Meimūn’s writing called “Seferha- Masvūt” or “The Book of Rules”. Regarding this, he firstly changes the text from Hebrew letters to Arabic letters. He does not change the words which are in Hebrew Language in original text, but in a footnote shows the transliteration and explains the meaning of the word. Besides, he draws up a table in three parts: the first part includes the Hebrew characters, the second part includes the Arabic equivalent, and the third part includes the transliteration of the Hebrew characters. Finally, he provides a picture of Ibn Meimūn’s original text which is in Hebrew Letters.

The topic of the letters which the Prophet (PBUH) wrote to the kings, heads of States, and the leaders of the nations and groups in that era plays an important role in Islamic history. Therefore, this issue has attracted the attention of the scholars of hadith studies as well asSirah (Prophetic biography) studies, the historians, and literary scholars at all times. According to the author of the following paper, two important points concerning the topic of these letters were brought up in the second half of the 20th century which invite everyone to more consideration upon the issue of the letters. The first point is related to the studiesdone by some orientalists and later some Muslim writers which question the authenticity of the letters. These researches indicate that all the letters and dispatches were made up by the Muslim writers, and so cannot be verified historically. The second point is about the discovering of five written skins which are considered to be the original forms of the Prophet’s five important letters, but there is a difference of opinion about their verification. Hence, in the present paper, the author, before talking about these doubtful issues, pays attention to the content of these letters and the related reviews in Islamic sources. Afterwards, he introduces these two points briefly, and states his ideas.
