In the late VI c. AH, when most of the great Sufi orders began to crystalize in different parts of the Islamic world, the Chishti order first became established in India. The Chishtyya originated in the town of Chishti in Afghanistan. The oral teachings of the Chishtis, as revealed in the “oral discourses (malfūzāt)” literature, took a canonical textual form. The transition from oral to written form was reflected in diverse literary styles adapted to different audiences. That oral discourse (malfūzāt) literature spread was mainly because of its success in explaining the Sufi teachings. In the following paper, the author firstly analyzes the transition of mystical teachings from oral to written form. Then, he provides some information about the expansion of the basis of the Chishti Malfūzāt literature. With respect to this, he is going to point out Nezām al-Din Ouliyā’s speeches, and compare them with speeches of CherāghDehli and Borhān al-Din, two of his followers. Therefore, analyzing these texts (the original Malfūzāt) helps understand more about the expansion of Malfūzāt literature.

The title of a book is the first entrance to a work which should be selected based on certain scientific criteria, artistic taste, and aesthetics. The printed title of a book is typed and recorded in five places: spine, front cover, half title page, CIP data, and colophon. Since the responsibility of recording the name of the book in each of these places is with different people such as the author, the publisher, the typist, and the front cover designer, some inconsistencies have been observed in title of the book typed in these places. It is the same with the authors’ names. Therefore, in the following paper, the author is trying to show the inconsistencies in the book titles using some examples of the books in which the titles lack some words, have some more words, are changed, or are different in orthography. Following this, he is going to provide some instances of the books in which there are some inconsistencies in the authors’ names.

Rethinking World History is a collection of essays by Marshall Hodgson which contribute to the recent discussions about the history of the world, and the place of Europe in the history. This book is in three parts. In part one, the essays explore the place of Europe and modernity in world history, and challenges the adherents of both Eurocentrism and multiculturalism. In Part two of the work, Hodgson seeks to locate the history of Islamic civilization in a world historical framework. Finally, in Part three he argues that in the end there is but one history--global history--and that all the historical accounts must necessarily be resituated in a world historical context. In the present paper, the author intends to provide a report of this book. Therefore, he presents the titles of different parts of book, and then scrutinize the content of the essays of each part.
